After weeks of practicing and trials, 43 Key Stage 2 children were chosen to represent Whitehouse at the Athletics Competition. The children were all super excited to be representing the school in the biggest sporting event of the year so far.
The competition involved short distance, long distance, triple jump, long jump, vortex and relay.
All the children did a fantastic job in each of their events. Some of the children were a little nervous so we found some time to perform some mindful breathing before the events which seemed to help – thank you Miss Hopkinson!
We are now awaiting the results of all of the events to see if we have made it to the finals – fingers crossed!
The children from Whitehouse were a real credit to us on the day. They stuck to the code of conduct set by the organisers, they cheered each other on at every possible moment, and on top of all of this they gave 100% in every race, jump and throw
A big thank you to everyone who helped or supported the team leading up to the events, as well as coming along to the competition!
