SINGLE USE plastic is on the rise and causing catastrophic effects on your planet. Children are learning all about the effects of single use plastic on our environment and have been inspired by Sir David Attenborough after he appeared on stage at Glastonbury recently. We are quickly realising that every single one of us can make a difference and that is up to us as individuals to take responsibility. All the children and staff are committed to learning more about the effects of single use plastic and also what small things we can do to help (in school and at home!). We would love to hear about anything you’re doing at home so that we can share it with everyone in school.
Children have been given the task of designing an inspirational poster that encourages everyone to do their bit for our planet. The two most creative designs and with the clearest message will be drawn onto a canvas bag to take home and keep (and use instead of a plastic bag!).
There are so many people who are passionate about helping the planet however possible and dedicate time and resources to inspiring others. Conscious Living MK (founded my Codie-Leigh and Katie) is a local group spreading the word about how we can live more consciously to create positive effects for and on our planet. Follow them and their important and empowering work @conciouslivingmk. Join them (and some of our staff) on Sunday 4th August @1.30pm for their litter pick at Willen lake in partnership with Whitespace Yoga Studio. Doing our bit for the planet doesn’t have to be difficult or time consuming and we CAN make a difference.
Let’s commit to a plastic free July… and beyond! We will be sharing any photos from home and work we’ll be doing in school up until the end of term. Watch this space!
