Local Governing Body
Whitehouse Primary School is part of the Inspiring Futures through Learning Multi-Academy Trust. All schools that are part of this Trust are governed by one Board of Trustees and each school has its own Local Governing Body.
The Local Governing Body will meet six times a year to look at the delivery of the curriculum and all other aspects of school life, and discussions will be shared with the Board of Trustees. The Local Governing Body also provides a vital link between all the Academies and the Board of Trustees and their work helps to secure the best opportunities for all pupils at Whitehouse Primary School.
No special qualifications are needed - the most important thing is to have a keen interest in the school and be prepared to play an active part in the Local Governing Body’s work. However, we would particularly welcome nominations from parents with the following skills: HR, Finance, Personnel, Health and Safety, Project Management, and Resource Management. Training is available for all governors and we have an expectation that those new to being a governor, attend induction training.
Members of the new Local Governing Body (LGB) will be appointed for the school after two terms. In the interim, whilst the school community is established, the Trust board will be the accountable board.
The aim will be to ensure we have representation for the local community on the board. Information on recruitment for the LGB will be available here and circulated to parents in 2017.
