Carnival of Colours Parade

On 13th May 2023 some of our Whitehouse Primary Children took part in the Carnival of Colours Parade, immersing themselves in the vibrant world of art and culture as part of Milton Keynes Islamic Arts and Culture’s Art in the Park festival.

The children worked with artist, Simon Tipping to create wonderful Batik flags that they displayed throughout the parade. This year’s Art in the Park theme is ‘Roots and Foundations’ and is supported by Arts Council England and Milton Keynes City Council.

We think the flags look amazing! Well done, Whitehouse Primary!

During their art workshops with Simon, the children had a great time working collaboratively to create a geometric design on paper. They then carefully traced it onto silk using wax. Once a barrier was created, they used dye to colour in their designs. They developed a lot of art skills across the two days and were really excited  to see their art work as part of the parade in the Art in the park festival.
