What a vibrant celebration we had at Whitehouse for Diwali, with so many children dressed in beautiful traditional saris and party clothes! The children immersed themselves in the festival of lights; with each year group learning about cultural traditions and sharing their own experiences of Diwali. The day was filled with exciting activities, including making Diya lamps and lanterns, exploring colourful rangoli decorations, and learning traditional dances. Through the story of Rama and Sita, children learned about the triumph of good over evil, by using storytelling puppets in EYFS and Role Play masks in Key Stage One. Whilst in Key Stage Two, children created Acrostic Poems and wrote their own Newspaper Reports about the significance of Diwali.
